AI & Data Governance

Making AI and data manageable — without blocking the organisation

Poor data governance costs money, trust and compliance headaches — and with AI in the mix, the risks grow. This workshop provides a pragmatic framework: ownership, quality agreements, a data catalogue people actually use, and the principles of the EU AI Act.

What you'll learn

  • Choosing governance frameworks

DAMA-DMBOK in practice — which parts are relevant now, which later. Not everything at once.

  • Ownership & stewardship

Who is responsible for which data? Making roles, authorities and escalation paths concrete.

  • Setting up a data catalogue

What goes in it, how to keep it current, and how to ensure people actually use it.

  • GDPR in data practice

Processing register, data minimisation, retention periods — not as compliance theatre, but as workable policy.

Participant experiences

We'd already let two governance projects fail. This time we used an MVP approach — and it's holding up.
Rik Bos — IT Manager, Logistiek
Finally an approach where governance helps people rather than blocking them.
Ingrid van Dalen — Compliance Officer, Financiële dienstverlener
The RACI for our critical datasets — something we'd been putting off for three years — was done by the afternoon.
Esther Kok — Data Owner, Zorggroep
GDPR not as compliance theatre but as workable policy — that phrase alone was worth the day.
Anne Kuipers — Legal Advisor, Gemeente
We now have a data catalogue that colleagues actually open. I honestly didn't expect that.
Robert Meijer — CDO, Pensioenfonds
